Muhammad al-Idrisinei was sending to his sultan reports of travel to foreign lands. Arriving in Sicily, near Scicli he discovered a magical place where a source poured water five times a day, at well-defined times but the most particular thing is that this phenomenon corresponds to the hours of the musulmane prayers. This magical place was called ayn al-awqāt, which is the source of the hours, which Latinized became Donnalucata. Unfortunately, this source has not been found any more, it was probably due to the action of the sea that during the low tides showed the sources of fresh water in the "Ughie" on the Lido di Micenci. How I love coming to Scicli!
